Vehicle Description

This Triumph TR6 is an iconic classic sports car, which has been prepared to meet Motorsport FIA UK regulations, and is now eligible for a raft of high-profile stage rallies, sprints, and hill climbs, as well as being entirely road legal. Under the bonnet is a 2.5-litre straight-six, driving the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. First registered in October 1974, it was kept in single family ownership and serviced regularly until 2015, when it was converted to rally specification by experienced driver and vehicle preparer Paul Blackburn, There is a 19 page invoice for the work carried out at a reported cost of around £50,000. The car has been listed on the TR Register, and as a Mull Car Club Member, has also competed in two Isle of Mull rallies, in 2015 and 2016. It has been dry stored for the last year or so.
This purposeful TR6 is finished in French blue, with a black roof, front bumper, and rear light surround, as well as a set of blue mud flaps. It rides on aftermarket 15-inch eight-spoke wheels, shod with Avon tyres. Inside, it features black Cobra Monaco Pro bucket seats with Sparco harnesses, along with a three-spoke steering wheel, simplified race-focused switchgear on a carbon-fibre back plate, the original Smiths dials, a Racetech water temperature gauge, a partial Safety Devices roll cage, and a fire extinguisher for both the car and engine bay. Intercom wiring for headsets is also present for when the going gets noisy
Accompanying the vehicle is its Motorsport UK identity form, a Heritage Certificate showing it is a UK supplied car, the original Triumph service book, a ten-page build summary, and a collection of MOT certificates, which date back to 1985 and the original bill of sale from 1974.... Wish we could buy them at that price again!
A collection of original components can also be supplied if required, including the wheels, bonnet, boot lid, bumpers, stainless steel exhaust, seats, and Weber carburettors, as well as a spare gearbox and fuel tank. Its resprayed paintwork is in good condition, with the usual blemishes around the bodywork, in keeping with its competition use. There are also minor bubbles around the headlights. Inside, light wear can be seen on the dial covers, steering wheel, and original dashboard trim, though the aftermarket seats present very well.
The most recent MOT test was on 17 September 2016 at 33,436 miles, which was a clean pass with no advisories or defects. The car is now exempt from mandatory MOT testing due to its age although we will carry out a thorough safety check on the car prior to sale.
This Triumph TR6 is an impressive example of the classic British sports car, which was kept in single family ownership until 2015, when it was converted to meet Motorsport UK regulations by the experienced rally driver and preparer Paul Blackburn. It subsequently competed in two Isle of Mull rallies, in 2015 and 2016, though it has now been in dry storage for a couple of years.
